Hundreds of thousands of migratory raptors fly over central Veracruz each fall, along with thousands of other migratory birds.
Thanks to an ample range of habitats that goes from coastal mangroves to pine forests, Veracruz is home to many resident species that include Mexican endemics like the Red Warbler (shown), the Mexican Sheartail or the recently split Veracruz Wren.
Besides its very rich contemporaneous culture, Veracruz is full of prehispanic sites of the Totonacan people, some of which we will visit in our trips.
